A few things to add

Little Linguini got sick for the 1st time during month 5. It wasn't too big of a deal. She took it like a lady and was all better (no boogies) in one week. Here she is a little tired and a little sick at her cousins' 5th birthday party.

I also wanted to add her Stats from the Doctor's appointment. She is 27.5 inches long (90%), weighs 15.1 lbs (30%), and her head is in the 50%. Her doctor said she is doing great. She barely cried for her shots...a big improvement from the last shots. She got a low grade fever last night and this morning but she is doing well. The little bump on the side of her head is a little cyst. She said it's pretty common and we will continue to keep an eye on it. If they were to do anything to it, it wouldn't be until she is a year old. I also got a heads up that we might be seeing 2 bottom and top teeth soon. We'll keep you posted.

half-a-year-old

Did half a year really just pass?? All I have to say is my daughter is AWESOME!! She has really made being a mommy easy. Besides being super cute, she loves to smile, is a good eater and sleeper. She is getting pretty good with her sippy cup except she isn't very good at tilting it up....same with the bottle.
She loves to make cool noises. This month she discovered her feet which is so fun (except when I'm trying to feed her).
She is not too interested in crawling which I'm ok with...I'm not ready to babyproof. She has mastered rolling over in both directions which is good and bad. When I put her on her belly to practice she just rolls right over and smiles. She likes to hang out in bridge position.
She has started to suck her thumb to sooth herself. Pro- she'll never lose her thumb in the middle of the night or any other time she needs it,& Con- she'll never lose her thumb even when it's time to quit the thumb sucking.
We have been using the baby pool. It is so much fun. She loves it!
This month the went to Disney for the first time. She did awesome and was able to hang out with her cousins and Disney characters.
As I have mentioned before, Audrey has never been really good in the car but she has improved. She did 2- FOUR HOUR car rides with me and did really well. Of course I timed it with one of her naps, but you never know. Like today for example, she started screaming hysterically on our way home from the gym (5 minute car ride, really??). I guess she could feel how tense I was the whole ride. Most importantly we made the 4 hour trip to celebrate her primos' 3rd birthday
and to see her new Prima Gabrielle Alyse! I can't wait to hold her. We had to leave before I could hold her. WELCOME TO THE FALMILY BEAUTIFUL!!!Audrey already knows how awesome primas are. She can't wait to meet Amelie Marie too!
While we waited to surprise Tia Kika that we were in town. Audrey played with her primo Mandy. He helped bathe her, read to her and shared his animals with her.

Audrey also went to her 1st wedding. It was so nice. Two of my very good friends from FSU who were both partnered with me in different circus acts tied the knot this weekend. Audrey did great at the wedding and partied until 9:30pm (without a good afternoon nap) and luckly slept through the night. She also met so many of our friends from the circus, especially her Tia Sarita. Sarah also gave her the beautiful dress she ended up wearing at the wedding.
It was so much fun to see everyone. Sunday morning on Audrey's half-birthday we visited the bride and groom one last time before they left on their honeymoon and we met up with friends for breakfast.
After breakfast we headed to Audrey's GREAT-grandparents (Mema & Dedaddy) house for lunch. She met another cousin and more aunts and uncles.

What a GREAT WEEK/END & Half a year!

Mi gordita is 5 Months Old!

I know, I can't seem to decide. One second she is my gordita and the next she is my linguini/ spaghetti. The thing is, she is a little bit of both...the perfect balance. She is such a little cutie.
These days she continues to sleep through the night with the occasional hiccup. I continue to thank God for the gift of sleep. It seems that the more mommies and babies we meet, all of which have been older than Audrey, tell me about their 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I can't imagine how unpleasant I would be. We also started working on her falling asleep on her own. Before the naysayers "nay", I would like to say it was a necessary skill she needed to learn. She was having trouble falling asleep and fighting so much she would just scream. Now, I still rock/ carry her to sleep at least once a day but she can also be put down in her crib and cry for 5 minutes before dozing off. It especially helped in the car and stroller. Because she can let herself fall asleep, she is crying (less) in the car (with less intensity too) and I can actually take her out on the stroller again.
She got her ears pierced and looks so cute. I can't wait to change them into one of the pairs she has been given. She has 3 pairs beautiful earrings.
She is rolling over more easily everyday. From her back to her belly she is a pro, not so much in the other direction. In the last two weeks she has started to occasionally tuck in a knee for crawling but isn't really close to actually doing it.
She also LOVES to stand. For the most part she can be crying and if you hold her little hands and pull her up so she can stand, she will stop crying. She has also improved standing and playing in her exersaucer (SP?) and jumperoo. She is reaching out to grab things constantly and sticks them in her mouth right away. Put it in front of her and it Will end up in her mouth.
She has also added some cool new sounds and screams (both happy and sad) to her repitour.
Since my last post, she is now eating. She eats whole wheat cereal, butternut squash, yellow squash, peas, and broccoli. Today she tried lentils and well, she didn't' really like them. I think it was the texture but we will try again tomorrow. She didn't like broccoli the first time either, she almost gag with every spoonful. Now, she eats it like a pro (kinda). She only eating food at lunch time and cereal for breakfast and dinner. We'll start changing it up soon.

She just woke up from her nap so...ttfn!

Month 3

Here is one of my favorite pictures of the month: "Audrey with her friends"
It has been such an eventful month for my little baby.
SMILE
She is a Smiley Baby and I love it! She loves it when Mama and Papa talk to her and play with her.

LAUGH
A couple of weeks ago she laughed for the first time and is really beginning to get the hang of it now. I don't think she noticed what she was doing. Everytime she laughs she gets hiccups.

GRAB
She has also been using her hands so much more. She grabs toys that are near her and is even reaching for toys. Pretty much everything she gets her hands on makes it to her mouth.
EAT
Her hands are by far her favorite snack. Anything that comes near her mouth is a close second.
TALK
She is making so many noises. Some even sound like Mama...just saying :)
STRONG
She has been holding up her head on her own for a while now. She is not a big fan of tummy time but has improved so much. Yesterday she she flipped from her tummy to her back (I witnessed it) and later that day she flipped from her back to her tummy (Papa witnessed that)!! She is such a big girl!

WALK
She loves to stand. I can pull her up from lying on her back to standing by holding her hands. Here she is not walking but riding Holly.

READ
She can't read yet (that I know of) but she has been watching her "My Baby Can Read" DVDs and she likes them :)

Holiday Tid-Bit

Sorry it's been so long. The holidays were busy, as many of you know. Shortly after Thanksgiving Santa visited one of the Orlando malls and Audrey met him.

Christmas in Miami was GREAT! We always enjoy spending time with family. Audrey was such a good girl in her 3 months out of my belly that Santa brought her so many goodies :)

Also, Tia Ali made Audrey a stocking. She made our stockings when we were little. We all love our stockings. They are so unique and with so much detail.

We didn't leave town for the new year. Instead, we stayed home and watched FSU bowl game. The win was a great ending to a wonderful year. Here is a look at our baby Seminole :)

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving was GREAT! Audrey met so much family and mommy is sick?! LOL. I prefer it that way.
We headed to Miami on Wednesday afternoon at 5pm. She fell asleep almost immediately because that is what she does in the car. She doesn't really like to be awake in the car seat. We stopped at 7:15pm to feed her at a rest stop. I was packed! She loved looking around. We headed back out at 8pm and she slept until the next morning at 6am! I was scared the trip would throw her off but she kept it up :) That morning we headed to the Turkey Trot. It was so nice to be in that enviroment again. We didn't finish the race because she got fussy but we still enjoyed it. After she got to hang out with her primos. Her Tia Mel ran the 10K so we cheered for her by the finish.

Audrey with her primos

We hung out the rest of the day at my parents house and several of her Tia-abuelas came to meet her and her Tio Pepe. Then we headed to Tia Alba's for our Thanksgiving Dinner! Audrey met MORE family. We left at 9pm because Audrey was getting tired and sleepy.
The next morning we had more visitors. Some of my friends from the school I used to work came to meet Audrey and I got to see baby Rocco again. He is so big, strong and handsome! Later in the afternoon we went to Titi's new house and meet baby Christian. They are 2 weeks apart. He is so handsome.
